I've continued to think about which idea I would prefare to do, but the idea of continuing, or doing something similar to my last project last year seems to keep springing up in my mind, as I know it's something I enjoy.
I sat thinking about what ways I could maybe change the idea of last year's project, were I took old buildings/streets and created new and exciting ones, giving them a new lease of life, when suddenly it hit me. I was sat staring into space, towards my backpack and thought to myself, "Hmm, the buckle for that clip would look really cool as a building if I added windows into the gaps at the sides". I then remembered the project I did with John Kelly, were I had to create scenes from the film 'Metropolis' by taking pictures of things and scaling them up or down to seem like it is meant to be there and as a part of the scene.
Here are my 4 final pieces of finished work from John Kelly's project;

I then thought about how, if I added windows to the buckle and scaled it up and added it to a streetscape, it'd look like a real building made from something not intended to be a building and thought this would be a great thing to do with lots of other objects, as long as there were others I could use my imagination with.
This is an example I've created as a quick (not very good) draft, using the scene from the Manor Mill development in Kingston-Upon-Hull as a simpler way of getting a background, as I havn't got any streetscapes myself yet. I've replaced Manor's intended tower block with my own tower block, created using the VO5 bottle.
Manor's original;

My (rushed & unrealistic, but just to give you an idea) VO5 bottle tower;
the speaker could deffinately be a building and I think the deoderant as well.
